FARM TOUR
Join us for this exceptional agrotourism experience, where you will immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Coquira Soil Project, an agroecological livestock farm just 70 minutes from Panama City.
During this field day, you will learn about sustainable livestock practices. You’ll discover how high-density holistic grazing is a key regenerative component for soil health and a primary tool against erosion and desertification. You'll also see how waste from one area of the farm is reused in another (even through bioconversion with insects), aiming for a closed circular economy.
The experience begins at 8 a.m. and there is so much to see. As soon as you enter, you’ll encounter our tropical forage bank, filled with edible treasures. You'll stop by the visitor center for coffee, restroom, breakfast, and as a meeting point. Stroll through our edible forests and permaculture gardens, and at 10 a.m., we set off by tractor and cart.
First, we will take a ride to see the livestock grazing in a serene, natural environment. We will share everything you'd like to know about the role of sustainable livestock farming in food security and combating global warming. Along the way, we’ll see sheep and horses helping with the gardening and adding fertility to every corner of the farm. We'll make brief stops at our composting center, the nurseries used for our silvopastoral and edible forest programs, and visit our chickens and ducks feeding on black soldier fly larvae, which we use for bioconversion of organic waste and as feed for the birds.
We’ll then return to the historic century-old house, El Lodge, filled with charm and tradition. Here, you can explore any part of our wonderful edible forests you might have missed, with their wide variety of sustainably grown fruits and vegetables. Keep exploring, and you’ll find our vegetable gardens. When you’re ready, head over to our seasonal “farm-to-table” restaurant, where you'll enjoy delicious and nutritious dishes made with the healthiest ingredients in the country, all traceable to the experiences you’ve just had. Fitness is part of the lifestyle at Coquira Soil, so no dish will be unnecessarily heavy. You'll also have time to purchase meat and other fresh organic produce from the day to take home with you.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn about sustainable livestock farming, just a short distance from Panama City!
Frequently Asked Questions
What do we do on the farm?
CSP is a working farm . We handle more than 1000 cattle, 25 horses, 30 sheep, ducks, chickens, working dogs, and black soldier flies. It is a constant coordination and with Mother Nature there is no perfection. Everything is in motion, readjustment and self-balancing. We try to guide the process and progress of the land and water sources that we must care for. We offer you a day on the farm, the realities of where food is produced and an opportunity to appreciate, understand and reconnect.
What are we going to eat?
We include a Farm-To-Table Breakfast with the healthiest eggs in the country (we can explain why we dare to say this) from 8:00am to 9:45am. Lunch is à la carte from 11:30 to 2:00pm with the most natural, traceable and healthy meals than you can imagine. Assorted grass fed meat or free range chicken dishes, vegetarian soups with spoiled squash, or any other invention with what the farm itself offers us.
What do I bring?
Bring what you would bring on any adventure to the countryside: hat, coat or umbrella, boots, thermos of water, long pants, change of clothes, organic repellent and desire to learn.
We want you to take photos, but the less time you use your cell phone while you are here, the better you will understand the connection between your food and the soil.

What does Coquira mean?
Coquira is the name of the port at the end of our street, Via Coquira, which for now only measures 6 km (although a bridge that crosses the Bayano is under construction). We are in the middle. The Port of Coquira has been a historical milestone and the economic engine of the fishing activity of Chepo and many island communities. The little we have been able to find about the origin of the word coaquira comes from the indigenous Bolivian Aymara word that means: “ tireless traveler .”
What else do you sell?
We have a famous commissary from where you should regularly take with you regenerative proteins of various types for your week and your family.
We also have the crops of the day: from tubers to fresh or dried fruits, eggs, fruit tree seedlings, BSF larvae for your pets, and the best existing fertilizers.
All created with the best environmental intentions, with Zero Kms from its origin to your hand.
